Sammamish Neighborhoods, The Country
Just off 228th, (The main drag in Sammamish) and nestled among tall trees and larger homes is a little gem of a neighborhood called, "The Country." About 80 homes make up The Country. Built throughout the early 80's primarily by Swanson Dean, these are quality homes with 3 and 4 bedrooms typically ranging from 1200 to 2200 square feet and situated on generous lots with mature trees.
Affordable compared to The Heritage Hills and Hampton Woods neighborhoods and equally as convenient for shopping, commuting and recreation.
The unique touches on its homes make The Country stand out among the more affordable neighborhoods in Sammamish. One of my favorite features are the chimneys; solid brick, wood burning fireplaces with an arch over the vent.
Located in the award winning Lake Washington School district, Christa McAuliffe Elementary is not far away. The quiet streets and cul-de-sacs in The Country are often filled with neighbors taking walks, sharing recipes and planning informal events. There is no official home owners association, so there are no dues, but I've found a friendly welcoming atmosphere whenever I'm in The Country.
Recent sales in The Country have ranged from upper $300,000's to low $400,000's. I've listed two quality homes here in the recent past, and they are popular with buyers moving to Sammamish. The Country offers greater quality and distinctiveness than other affordable neighborhoods, yet is still within reach of many relocating to Sammamish or first time homebuyers.
